Updated: Nov 17, 2021

Most of the Indian girls are not taught beforehand the situations which are going to cross their path. Health is an important factor to live a healthy life, knowing your own body is really important. Females in India our never told about how to take care of themselves during menstruation. Only when the first menstrual; cycle comes in, is where we are told how to handle it.

In many rural areas even today menstruation is considered an Impure health condition. Females are not allowed to get into the praying area or their bedroom or even in some cases to the kitchen. One cannot call the process of menstruation impure because this is the time when females get the impure blood out and the body becomes even cleaner and pure. They are taught to use a cloth which is dirty and not even sterilized properly. Using pads is considered as an expensive at the same time not a good practice. With the entire world taking leaps, and the country developing at such a fast rate, we also need to start changing our thought process.

Menstruation is very normal; it happens to every female in the universe. Instead of creating big deal about it, one should talk more about it as a regular health care routine. One should start at the very base level of educating students in schools. Menstruation should be compulsory topic to be covered at an early stage for teenage students, not only girls but also boys. The curriculum should include the topic at large.

We should talk about the cycle of menstruation on a daily basis, one should not shy away from talking about the topic. Let’s start changing the society by talking to our father and brothers at the first place. Females need to start being open about menstruation only that way we will be able to educate the future generations.

Changing thought process of the entire population will be a gradual process. As, young educated females we should be first ones to start spreading the normalization of menstruation. YoursTruly wants you to become healthier every day and become a confident healthy female.
