Beyond Gossip And Glamour

Updated: Nov 17, 2021

Let’s be honest: who does not want to know what Sara Ali Khan is wearing today or what Shahrukh Khan tweeted about? We all do right? We love Entertainment, we love actors and directors and singers and everyone who entertains us on a daily basis so it is rather natural for us to distract ourselves by engaging in their lives that are beyond their work.

We are the reason that the people in the entertainment industry are surviving and thriving from the past numerous decades. But does entertainment only mean this shallow news that probably every other website tells you about? No. entertainment industry is the mirror of society and we, as female audiences, listeners and viewers have as much responsibilities towards it as our male counterparts.

Entertainment at YOURSTRULY does not only mean telling you which actors dating who or what song released last Friday or recommending what movie is the best to watch next. It means that we want to help you recognize the importance of the entertainment industry as a whole and want you to understand problematic aspects of it. Entertainment is not only gold and glamour but has dark, sexist, problematic parts that probably no one talks about. Why would they if it does not affect them? But it does affect us. Us, women who play as much a role in the society as our male counterparts.

We, at YOURSTRULY, are here to tell you and help you out when you’re confused about what type of movies to watch but we are also here to tell you when a certain movie contains problematic sequences or undertones that are subsided and hidden under lots and lots of patriarchal opinions.

We are here to tell you which artist has an album coming up but we are also here to tell you which artist's new album is problematic and does not deserve the clout it's getting.

We are here to tell you how we, as women, are supposed to view these entertainment stories and news that are provided to us differently than the rest of the patriarchal world. So, let's change the way we observe and absorb entertainment in our daily lives. Let's make entertainment inclusive and little less problematic than it already is.
